When we went into the city of Port Louis, we went directly to the Waterfront area, which of course was way too touristy and sadly very empty, granted it wasn't main season. It was still beautiful and the umbrella's with the general feel was nice, but what caught my attention were the artists creating the beautifully locally made arts and crafts. One lady in particular was a lovely woman called Gilberte. Gilberte is an artist who uses so many different variations and ways of painting. Her work is bright and with such variety, it is so easy to find something that you would like. I wish for this lovely woman, that tourists make the effort to come and see her work and to purchase her beautiful art....
Being an artist is a very difficult experience, people in general do not realise what goes into each and every paint stroke, each and every thought behind it. It is very admirable to see an artist working their dream...
