Culture Vulture....

A few of us living in the very Southern Cape are taking full advantage of a night here & there to educate ourselves with theatre...Oh boy it is amazing...firstly, we are actually getting out together which is divine and secondly, we are educating ourselves...it has been fantastic...a few months back we went to see West Side Story, which with an all South African cast blew my mind... so I didn't think twice about going to see the new David Kramer (for those who don't know, huge old school talent; actor, writer and director) production, Orpheus in Africa! Everything about this production was fantastic; the talent, music, story, actors...all...so very impressive...

The Fugard theatre in Cape Town is so beautifully renovated, it is gorgeous & so comfortable. I will definitely be returning as soon as I have the opportunity...in the meantime, I have the incredible production to ponder...wow...I am so blown away with local professionalism...it is fantastic..so worth seeing...

Lynelle Kennedv is the extraordinary female lead who was Maria (the female lead) in West Side Story. She is hugely talented & so lovely to watch...I will definitely be keeping an eye & ear out for her for the future...

If there is one thing that you do this year, get to a theatre near you...it does something incredible to your soul & keeping it local, what better way to celebrate your lovely country...

& I suppose with the World Cup Rugby on in the UK, we could say that that could be the theatre that you are enjoying for now....open your mind...........
