I came across Claudia Gurwitz a few years ago and absolutely loved the intensity of her work!

Her attention to detail is really beautiful and the bright happy colours give the feeling of a burst of the freshest sweetest senses.....

A SOLO EXHIBITION OF PAINTINGS BY CLAUDIA GURWITZ.

Riebeek Kasteel artist, Claudia Gurwitz, will showcase her latest works at her gallery Claudia’s Wall, on 27 and 28 September 2014.  Contact Claudia on 083 442 7261 for a private viewing from 19-26 September.

Claudia’s artwork combines blown-up plant form representations against contrasting colour fields causing the canvases to burst open. Her paintings are explosive. They draw in, overwhelm and absorb the viewer with their vibrant colour. The taut wound-up quality of the painting technique causes the paintings to bounce. “Through observing the object through a micro setting, I reveal its essence. I expose the texture, the movement, the intricate detail, the vitality of each natural form” explains Gurwitz. 

Sculptures by Van Wessels, Mike Hillier and Mischa Hillier will also be exhibited.
